Een heldere en veelzijdige ultrabrede prime, de Four Thirds-mount 14mm f / 2.8 ED AS IF UMC uit Samyang heeft een helder maximaal diafragma van f / 2.8 en is zeer geschikt voor onderwerpen variërend van landschap tot architectuur tot astrofotografie.
Het optische ontwerp bevat een paar asferische elementen en drie elementen met een hoge brekingsindex (HR), die sferische aberraties en vervorming beheersen.
Bovendien worden twee elementen met een extra lage dispersie gebruikt om kleurranden en chromatische aberratie te verminderen voor verbeterde helderheid en kleurnauwkeurigheid.

The Samyang 14 mm is a ultra wide-angle manual focus lens designed for both Full-Frame and APS-C cameras.
It features exceptional optical performance, regardless of its price class, throughout the image from its centre to borders. Even when used wide open at f2.8 its quality is excellent, and is perfectly suited to landscape photography requiring a high quality wide angle lens, and suitable for either professional or amateur photographer and videographers.
When using it on an APS-C DSLR - the field of view is still equivalent to approximately 22mm (35mm equivalent) which is still impressively wide, It produces an immense field of view - 114 degrees on full frame sensors, 93.9˚ (APS-C with 1.5x crop factor), or 89.9 ˚ with Canon EOS (1.6x crop factor)
The Samyang 14mm f/2.8 IF ED UMC Aspherical Lens features high build quality, with a built in petal shaped lens hood to help shade the lens from light sources behind the camera. Constructed from metal and high quality plastic, the 14mm features a smooth dampened manual focus ring, the aperture ring features 1/2 EV steps.
Tests and reviews carried out by respected independent reviewers and professional magazines confirm the lens’ excellent optical properties and high build quality.
The Samyang 14mm features a wide, ribbed manual focus ring which is smooth and well-damped. This provides a positive manual focus, particularly suitable for more professional videoing / filming with DSLR’s where manual focus is preferred, enabling focussing pulling whilst video recording.
